On May 12 we will set out on a 83 day walk from Lands End to John O'Groats. As of today we have completed plotting our route and booking accomodation at 68 different overnight spots. Our goal is stay at pubs or old coaching inns wherever possible and to sample the local brew in every town we pass through.

Gordon and I have both always loved to hike - especially together!! Nothing beats that feeling of being physically active and mentally rested while exporing a new place or revisiting old favorites.One of our favorite old haunts is Lions Head in Cape Town - a walk, a short climb, either up the "chains" or via the more gently inclined path, and up a series of ladders gets you to one of the best viewing spots in the world. We have done this walk many times - this picture was taken on Christmas Day 1999.
